dc.description.abstract This paper examines the factors that influence the availability and accessibility of external finance to small & medium enterprises. Using a sample of 232 credit files of 8 commercial banks in Tanzania, we find that, SME Credit decision making in Tanzania is positively influenced by a firm's - size, equity, profitability, length of relationship with bank and negatively influenced to the firm's - levels of existing debt, gearing rations, loan amount & tenor. en
