dc.description.abstract This paper describes the functionality and architecture of a Semantic Data Modeling environment. It integrates User Interface techniques used in Computer Aided Software Engineering and Expert Systems shells into a system of interacting views of the Semantic Data Model. Each view provides a different way of viewing and modifying the model. Hypertext is an integral part of the environment. The architecture of the environment is layered, consisting of an associative network layer, a semantic functions layer and a user interface, and is aimed particularly at maximizing its generality and extensibility. en_US
