Fourth generation languages offer substantial productivity benefits to data processing departments. Major problems&#13;
associated with their use include the inability of conventional project management systems to control systems development&#13;
when they are used and possible future performance problems when large volumes are implemented. A process&#13;
graphing technique is presented for specifying run units in this environment. It can be used in a prototyping environment&#13;
and also provides the necessary data for building models to predict eventual performance.

In five years of watching students operate terminals I have observed that the response time of the terminal has much&#13;
to do with the comfort of the user. I have also observed this phenomenon in the business environment. It occurs whether&#13;
the operator is a university graduate or a junior clerk with minimal education.&#13;
This note describes some work done to make the man machine environment more comfortable for the user. The&#13;
work was done by a group of students as part of a course in Management Information Systems at the Wits Business&#13;
School.
